This group focuses on developments relating to new fiber types and their applications. Of interest are fibers fabricated in a variety of materials and structures, designed to benefit a range of application fields, including sensing, lasers, supercontinuum generation and quantum computing.

The Fiber Optics Technology and Applications Technical Group focuses on developments relating to new fiber types and their applications. Round Table with Seasoned Entrepreneurs in Optics and Photonics

At Frontiers in Optics 2020, the Fiber Optics Technology and Applications Technical Group hosted a special round table event featuring entrepreneurs Michelle Stock, Iñigo Artundo and Barbara Buades sharing their insights and experiences in a diverse pool of markets in optics and photonics, ranging from bio-oriented applications and fiber lasers to optical communications and photonic component markets. You can watch the full event from Frontiers in Optics here.
