Vision and Color Summer Data Blast

You are invited to join the Optica Vision and Color Technical Division for their annual summer data blast! Each session will be hosted by one of our division’s technical groups and feature short talks related to their area of the field. The sessions will include a lot of time for questions and discussion following the talks.

This week's session, hosted by the Color Technical Group, focuses on mechanisms of color perception and how color impact overall perception. The session will feature the following talks:

“The warm-cool dimension aligns with asymmetries in color perception implicit in uniform color spaces” presented by Jake Manalansan, University of Nevada Reno, United States

“The interaction between color categories and attention” presented by Aimee Martin, University of Giessen, Germany

“Hue ensemble segregation does not rely on color categories” presented by Lari Virtanen, University of Helsinki, Finland

“Strong modulation of face distortions in prosopometamorphosia by color” presented by Antônio Mello, Dartmouth College, United States

“Facial redness perception based on realistic skin models” presented by Yan Lu, University of Leeds, United Kingdom

“Color calibration in virtual reality using different head mounted displays” presented by Francisco Díaz Barrancas, Justus-Liebig Universität, Germany

Our moderator for this session will be Francisco Imai, chair of the Color Technical Group.
